The lights. The energy. The sheer creative electricity that crackles backstage at Australian Fashion Week is unlike anything else. And this year, Oscar Oscar Salons, in collaboration with haircare powerhouse Redken, stood right at the epicenter of it all.
As the official stylists for the opening show's jaw-dropping Next Gen runway presentation, our team, led by the ever-inspiring Jacky Chan Partner at Oscar Oscar Chadstone, wasn't just creating hairstyles – they were setting trends.
Texture Takes Center Stage:
"We wanted to create a cohesive theme across all four designers presenting, but with enough variation to truly compliment each brand's unique vision," explains Jacky. Texture, it seems, was the name of the game, a testament to its versatility and ability to elevate any look.
Effortless Beauty for House of Campbell:
House of Campbell's designs called for a look that mirrored their effortless elegance. Lead Stylist Amy Sorensen Master Stylist Oscar Oscar Indooroopilly agrees, "it was all about creating a beautiful, natural look that moved and flowed freely. Working with natural textured hair allows us to enhance its inherent beauty and create volume without sacrificing that effortless feel." The result? Hair that flowed freely, exuding a breezy confidence that perfectly complemented the label's aesthetic.
Wild and Free with Emily Watson:
For Emily Watson, the focus shifted to a more untamed texture. "We took inspiration from the wild, free spirit of the collection," says Amy Sorensen. "The textured, messy look we created brought a touch of sexy confidence to the runway." This was a hairstyle with an edge, one that spoke of uninhibited confidence and a touch of effortless cool.
Delicate Details for Amy Lawrance:
Amy Lawrance's designs demanded a touch of ethereal beauty. Here, intricate details took center stage. "Amy Lawrance's collection was all about romanticism and whimsy," explains Jacky. "The delicate details of the fine strands shaping around the front of the bonnets added a touch of magic to the overall presentation." The meticulous styling added a touch of whimsy and romance to the overall presentation.
A Glimpse into the Future of Fashion:
These diverse, textured looks weren't just about aesthetics; they were a peek into the future of fashion. They championed individuality, embraced natural beauty, and celebrated the power of texture to elevate any style. As Jacky Chan and the Oscar Oscar team so masterfully demonstrated, texture is no longer just a trend – it's a fundamental language of hairdressing, with the power to create a world of possibilities.
Stay tuned for more from Oscar Oscar Salons as we continue to break boundaries and set trends, one stunning hairstyle at a time!
